_randy commentedThere's another user who is putting together a module for group support. Not sure of the progress or if they can share it after.
https://www.drupal.org/project/maestro/issues/2989204
I'll postpone this issue for now. However, Maestro is extensible so that we could write a group assignment mechanism as we only support roles and users out of the box right now.

bildesbil commentedthank you randy for your answer, if it can be done I think you will facilitate the life of most people like me who work in different departments.
What information do you need and I will give it to you if possible.
_randy commentedNot sure if @endorn's module will do the job for most people or if it's too closely tied to their use case. Will have to wait and see.
bildesbil commentedthank you. I hope so but as you said wait to see this module.

SlayJay commentedSorry for the late reply on this, it's crunch time here.
Here's the sandbox with the basic functionality.

_randy commented@slayjay I'm not sure if you posted/shared your final group module code?
SlayJay commented@_randy Just did it now, it's still messy but I realized if I wait for it to be perfect before releasing I'll never release it haha.

Lots of messy unused code and comments, but been stable for us for 6 months now.

_randy commentedClosing this item for now -- realizing that the contributed module for group assignment is available, but may need work. Use the issue queue of that module for support.

mably commentedIt looks like the https://www.drupal.org/project/maestro_group_security module is seeking new maintainers.
Sadly, the module code hasn't been updated since 2019.
We might be interested in using it. We'll see what we can do if our project gets confirmed.
