Login destination rule based on taxonomy field on user profile

Is there a way to configure a login destination based on a taxonomy field on the user's profile?

I'd like to avoid creating a lot of drupal roles in permissions. If I could use a taxonomy field I could keep my roles nice and clean, but offer many differently destinations based a taxonomy list.

ie: tag members of "Spring 2017", or "Tenors", or language of preference "Spanish".
