I am using the latest Drupal 8 version with the latest Linkit version. I am also using the module Bricks with the Entity Construction Kit (which may have a bearing). I have searched many hours to understand how I can add a link to an image field. The fact that I have not found anything might mean that it is not possible with Linkit?

I created a Linkkit profile (matcher: content), configured and added the button to the Editor. I have also changed the default config in the "manage display" area to "link to content". I have not done anything in the "manage form" area. I want to add a link to a content created on the site on an image that I set up as a field (outside the Editor). For example, I created an image for a specific target group. It should act like a button that links to a page containing information relevant for this specific target group. Is this possible with Linkit and if so, what am I missing? Do I need to create a content field (reference) and if so how?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Sorry for the late response.

What you try to do is not possible with Linkit. Linkit can't link to fields. It can only link to entities (and format email addresses).

Maybe you can use the media module included in drupal core >= 8.4.
