Is there any plan to make this module available for D8 / Leaflet 8.x? If not, we may could contribute this...
Looks like quite an easy job, or do you know any incompatibilities with the new leaflet library?

I did a D8 port (using drupalmoduleupgrader and some manual work). JS file is not changed, just the module structure adapted to D8.
Is tested on our site, looks good. See attachment.
