jsonapi 8.x-1.22

This is the final release of JSON API 1.x.

This release fixes every known bug that could be addressed in the 1.x branch of JSON API while maintaining backwards-compatibility.

It includes full, comprehensive test coverage of all features of the module. We believe the 1.x branch has reached a point of stability and maturity that it can remain as-is for current users of the module for some time.

While we encourage users to test and upgrade to the 2.x version of the module, 1.x will remain in place for those who do not have the immediate resources to upgrade to the 2.x version. However, security support and support requests will eventually be dropped. At that point, users will need to upgrade to a 2.x release.

As many of you may be aware, JSON API wishes to be included in Drupal core. Our goal is that users of the latest version of the 2.x branch of JSON API will be able to safely migrate from the contrib version to the core version of JSON API with ZERO consequences. That is not a goal or a guarantee for users of the 1.x branch. This is because a small but necessary number of breaking changes had to be introduced between the 1.x and 2.x version of JSON API. These changes lay the groundwork for better spec compliance, JSON API Spec Version 1.1, and new and important core feature support.

We hope you love JSON API as much as we do. Please don't hesitate to tell us how you're using it or what you've built with it! Also, please let us know what you found difficult or think could be better documented. ❤️❤️❤️
