Hi,

I have a Drupal 5.14 and on my status report it states that jquery update is installed correctly, but right under neath displays "The current installed version of jQuery is "javascript not enabled "".

I copied all the .js files on the "misc" folder.

PHP - 5.2.4
Apache 1.3.41

Any help is greatly appreciated !

I am having the same problem. Multisite install with shared core and separate databases.

Drupal 5.15
Configuration file Protected
Database schema Up to date
Drupal core update status Up to date
File system Writable (public download method)
Module update status Up to date
MySQL database 5.0.67
PHP 5.2.6
PHP register globals Disabled
Unicode library PHP Mbstring Extension
Web server Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_ssl/2.8.31 OpenSSL/0.9.8b
jQuery Update Installed correctly
The current installed version of jQuery is javascript not enabled

strange thing is; the base install for the multisite + two added sites have no problem. Only the third added site has the java error.
Another thing is; although jquery_update 5.x-2.0 is installed the status report in the 3 working sites tells me "The current installed version of jQuery is 1.2.6".
I was wondering if you made any headway with this issue yet aarias?

The problem is that the file compat.js need to be copied to miss also. That fixed it for me

For me, adding compat.js did not help.

I am running a clean install of Drupal 5.15, and the Status Update says: "jQuery Update Installed correctly
The current installed version of jQuery is ", but there is no installed version number (if installed correctly, it should be 1.2.6). When I install a module Hierarchical Select, it reports that "jQuery Update 2.x installed. Implementation modules are installed correctly." However, when I run Hierarchical Select, it reports that Javascript is not enabled.

Somehow, jQuery does not seem to take...

Have you checked your browser settings?

I had this problem and it was because I had my browser set to disable javascript for my site (left over from when I had been doing some degrading testing and forgot to reset the settings). The text 'javascript not enabled' is enclosed in tags, so that is most likely the cause of the problem.

Reinstalling the modules seemed to fix the problem. However, it repeated itself a few days later, and once again reinstalling seems to have fixed the problem. Unfortunately, I still don't know why it is happening.

Marking this as won't fixed. 5.x is no longer supported/maintained. If this is still an issue in 7.x, then please re-open.
