FYI: There are totally plans to upgrade this to D8. Now that the fields plugins are more stable, I was going to work on this and hope upon hope to achieve this before launch. If you want to submit a patch to achieve this, it would make my life easier.

This module looks stalled ... I tried https://www.drupal.org/project/audiofield which also has jPlayer support, and works well ... See #3318911: drush audiofield:download fails with error and how to get the library.
