Hierarchical Select is taking a long time to be completed for Drupal 7.

Proposed resolution

The Finder jQuery Drilldown Plugin has been proposed as an alternative. Let's see if we can come up with an implementation.

Remaining tasks

Discuss implementation strategies and come up with some working code. If we come up with something clean and reusable, we can discuss creating an actual project out of it.

This project was inspired by the conversation at #1170192: Port Hierarchical Select Taxonomy Views (for exposed filters in Views) to Drupal 7.

Does anyone have any code to share for this? I should be clear that I created this sandbox so that people had a place to collaborate, but I'm not personally working on it right now.
