status and integration with players?

ahoy,

i am investigating the various options for displaying/formatting Media elements on a site. i came across this project and agree with the initial premise and motivation. however, upon installing and playing with it, i am unsure what to do next? though it comes with the minPlayer, i am wondering if there is or will be integration with other players, e.g. jPlayer, SM2, etc.? it seems like this module aims to be a framework for integrating Media with players, but i have thus far been unable to find other players that integrate with it beside OSM.

i would appreciate any direction or project status.
