If this request still applies: why not consider the charts module as an alternative? It is used in close to 9.000 sites (as compared to 679 sites today for the Highcharts module). And the Highcharts library is one of the charting libraries that is supported out-of-the-box. I'm the new maintainer of the charts module, about to finalize a brand new release of it. And preparing the charts module as the recommended migration path for the chart (not chart's') module, used in about 26.000 sites today.
