There is a disconnect between the site builders who build/administer content types and entities in a site versus the content authors and editors who write the content.
The help text editor module attempts to smooth over some of this disconnect by providing dedicated forms for editing field help text, without requiring access to field configuration.
This module adds a permission called "edit entity help text", which when a user has it, allows that user to use the helptext_edit forms to edit the help text (but only the help text) of all of the fields attached to content entities.
This module was born out of conversations about empowering content authors after the presentation Why Can't We Be Friends? Configuring Drupal to Play Nice with Content Authors by Danielle Lyrette & David Pascoe-Deslauriers at Drupal North, 2019.
