I love this module, unfortunately I need it to be useable in China. Yet when enabled, as it is blocked in China, it prevents the entire site from loading. Is there a way to cache this locally on the server or keep it disabled when it is accessed from China? That would be awesome. I would love to have a multilingual site again. I hate the GFW : ( ....

Running Nginx, it seems to prevent my site from loading untill the php timeout limit is reached in my php config...

Hi,

You can use GTranslate Enterprise version. http://gtranslate.net/features which will work in China as well.

Thanks!

Can anyone verify the cached version will work in China before I pay ? Its not very cheap, but if it works Id consider paying that much. What I mean is specifically allows the page to load vs. What happens when currently enabled in China.

Hi,

I'm the owner of GTranslate and it will work in China.

We also have a refund policy.

Thanks!

Thats great! ok so to make it clear before I pay....

Right now it does not work as it is blocked and the page does not load untill the php timeout limit is reached, sometimes not loading at all.

Are you saying that if I purchase the module, the translation will work inside of China too?

Or are you saying that if I purchase the module the page will load immediately, as normal, even though the rest of the services are blocked in China.... so obviously my Chinese users will not be able to translate content.

I know it is not your fault or the fault of this module that China has chosen to ban/censor all things google...

I do not know how else I should say that it will work from China. Please check http://gtranslate.net which uses GTranslate Enterprise and see how it works.

Thanks!

Ok, I have checked gtranslate, and if I am correct that it uses the enterprise version, then I can verify it is working from within China for anyone following this. I will pay for one year access in 7 hours.

AntiNSA’s picture

Well, I paid for a year, and sadly after installing and setting the cname servers I am not able to get the translation to work . Unlike the site you gave me as an example. When I click on your translation for your site, it translates without a vpn. however when I click on my site, i get http://translate.google.com/translate?client=tmpg&hl=en&langpair=en|zh-CN&u=http%3A//thecenterofthenet.com/ which is a bad thing because of course translate.google.com is blocked in China.

Hi. I was assured in the Drupal forum this would work in China, no problem.

here are my issues.

I am using d6
php 5.4
Nginx w/Octopus/Baracudda(Aegir)
Latest Gtranslate module

1) On the fly is only electable if I unchecked the "Operate With Enterprise Version"
2) If "Operate with enterprise version" is selected, then redirect is the only option which is saved
3) On the free version, it does work with a VPN in China. Without a VPN it does not work, causing my site to not load. I was told in China this would work.
4) I have added CNAME as directed
5) on the free version, there is no prefix needed to be added to my URL, like es.thecenterofthenet.com...
I would appreciate it if the translation could be made for thecenterofthenet.com as it is with the free version.
6) I really need this to be functional in the next 24 hours.
7) Leaving it functional on my live site for you to test is causing my site to be unavailable in China, I live in China and this is very important for my students.... I need it accessible.

Emergency Help... I was so tired trying to troubleshoot this for 5 hours last night I couldnt even type anymore. Help please....

Hi,

Please use our forum http://gtranslate.net/forum/ to get help for Enterprise version. Only I check this Drupal chanel.

I have checked your Spanish version and it worked great for me: http://es.thecenterofthenet.com/

However you have not configured your language selector to work with Enterprise version and Redirect method.

So please write all your issues you experience with Enterprise version and one of our support specialist will check and explain everything to you.

Thanks!

Hi the problem is with enterprise selected in the module menu, on the fly is not an option.

1) Select Enterprise + Save + reload = No problem. Enterprise still selected.
2) Select Enterprise + Select "on the fly" + Select save = get message "Your change has been selected". Reload = Problem the option on the fly is not selected.
3) If deslecting enterprise version, you can select on the fly. If selecting enterprise version, redirect is the forced option.

Right now if you visit, the enterprise + redirect option is selected.

Sitting in China and accessing the site now, without vpn the site does not load. With vpn on am forced to the translate.google interface.

WHen using the gtranslate site from china I can translate into Chinese without the gtranslate site.

The forum has not received any feedback on this topic I

I am now swtiching to the gtranslate forum for continued support
