When a user tries to login to the user account from https://groups.drupal.org/ , the user is redirected to a 404 page

Step 1
Got to https://groups.drupal.org/, and click on "Log in / Register" tab
Step 2
Enter credentials and click login
Step 3
you will be redirected to a 404 page (https://www.drupal.org/bakery/login)

It appears to be an issue with gdo (http://groups.drupal.org) being on D6 (Drupal 6) and drupal.org is currently on D8 (Drupal 8).
