I am using English as my site's default language, but i change the default language to the other language and input an article, when i change the default language back to English the global redirect is no working for this article.

i installed the languageassign module and assigned all my articles to language nature it works fine now.

Enable the "translation redirect" module, which is included in the i18n package. This fixed it for me.
