Problem/Motivation

No indication for the Moderation Sidebar after updating to Drupal ~11.2.0. The new Navigation Toolbar system does not surface the sidebar integration, affecting content moderation workflows.

Proposed resolution

Integrate the Moderation Sidebar functionality with the new Navigation Toolbar in Drupal ~11.2.0 to restore visibility and usability.

#3535146: Integrate Moderation Sidebar with Navigation Top Bar in Drupal ~11.2.0 and Gin ~5.0

  • Review Navigation Toolbar architecture in D11.2+ with Gin ~5.0
  • Implement plugin or service hook for moderation indication
  • Test integration in various admin themes and languages

Also a new branch 2.0.x could be used to manage a smoother upgrade process.

This will be blocked by #3535146: Integrate Moderation Sidebar with Navigation Top Bar in Drupal ~11.2.0 and Gin ~5.0 in Moderation Sidebar. Postponing until there's movement there.

Managed a merge request (MR) in #3535146: Integrate Moderation Sidebar with Navigation Top Bar in Drupal ~11.2.0 and Gin ~5.0.
It could be that the new look in the Navigation Top Bar can work without further integration with Gin.
