Problem/Motivation

An icon is needed for the industry section on the new drupal.de website.
This page highlights the existing icons: https://www.drupal.nl/toepassingen

For the German relaunch we need an icon to represent the German 'Mittelstand' so small and medium sized companies, especially in the manufacturing industry.

The idea here was to use a cogwheel, tool or similar to emphasize the manufacturing aspect of the industry.

Given the size, and the fact that it needs to match the other icons, »scaling« could also be a factor. What do you think? See icon attached.
