Nearly there - but slide not loading

FPSS module 6.x-1.0-beta2
FPSS standalone 1.7.2
php 5.2.6
mysql 5.0.41
websever (local host) Apache/2.0.59 (Unix) PHP/5.2.6 DAV/2

I've installed, activated, and configured the module
Verified proper CSS folder
Created a block, and configured it.

Created a node "slideshow" and attached one image to it.

The block appears as expected, and has a frame for a slide, but no image loads.

I've toggled the settings available on the configuration page, but still don't get an image.

I feel I'm missing something obvious! Am willing to go the stand-alone install route but thought I'd try this module first. It's close but needs work I'd say…
