Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
This release has lagged and I apologize for not releasing it sooner. There was an issue with Drupal 8.4 where a core entity route was added (/enable) which messed with @fontyourface taking up the same route. I've renamed the routes (/activate and /deactivate). Below are the major fixes that came:
There was a permissions related issue where only those with 'administer site configuration' could add custom fonts. I've updated the permission to now be 'administer font entities' (same as @fontyourface). However, the module was in need of some updates with respect to PHPCS so the syntax has been updated. All in all, a relatively minor release.
And we are finally here! Weeks have gone by without major bug reports and there is a small issue that has popped up regarding the progress bar but nothing that should stop you from picking out your typography!
We are in the home stretch here! No new bugs have been discovered, the module seems to be working well, and testing is really helping. But there is one major-ish new feature that has been added (and I know this might have made more sense as a beta than an RC but my fingers typed rc before beta and here we are! Sorry about that folks) which I would love more testing on.
This release has a few small bug fixes and a lot of code style and automated testing fixes. Tests are now automated and working on both DrupalCI Testrunner (aka drupal.org issue queue automated testing) and via TravisCI (aka Github automated testing). TravisCI helps catch code style issues along with the occasional funky WebTest bugs (plus it will open up possibilities to have behat tests) while DrupalCI tests for some very deep ... err ... 'Drupal' stuff (like making sure configs are in the correct schema format, etc).
This is mostly a bug fix release though one nice thing that has been added is the beginnings of automated testing! @font-your-face for D8 now has simpletest to make sure the import functionality, core display functionality work as expected. Some more testing needs to come into play but we can now have issues which will test out the patches, so yay!
We now have custom fonts (also known as the local_fonts module) functionality! This allows you to create custom fonts which can be exported/imported via the configuration api. We also have various bug fixes included in the beta release.
The first alpha release for @font-your-face for Drupal 8 (ignore alpha1, it mentions fonts.com is not ready, but it is ready for testing now).
There are no known major or critical bugs, but there will be changes, specifically around the fields and views used in selecting fonts. I highly suggest using the Configuration Update Manager module for new updates to schema, etc.
Please report any bugs you find in the issue queue.

Development release. Use this to help test new functionality. Do not use this in production. Expect to reinstall this many times as capabilities, config, code, change.
