I also would like to assist development of the D8 port. The version currently available at GitHub fails on any source other than "upload."

Is this issue duplicated with #2354925: Port FileField Sources to Drupal 8 ?
The source code on the GitHub is working with all sources except 'imce'. I'm working on it. MRs are welcome.
