Problem/Motivation

I've read in the description for at least one other project that the Field Formatter Settings functionality has been added to Drupal 8.x core. There is currently no mention of the Field Formatter Settings API status for Drupal 8.x in the project description.

The Field Delimiter project claims that Field Formatter Settings is not required as a dependency in Drupal 8.x because its functionality has been included into Drupal 8.x core. There may be other Projects that depend on this one that also make this claim. I've not checked.

Proposed resolution

Could you please confirm, deny and/or explain the Drupal 8.x status of this project in the Project Description so that developers and site builders can plan thier installations with a migration path to Drupal 8.x in mind.

Remaining tasks

Add a README.txt to the Drupal 7.x branch and ensure that it has a note on Drupal 8.x migration. Specifically, developers will need to know whether the Field Formatter Settings API will be part of Drupal 8.x core or not and if it is, will there be any significant differences that they should be aware of.

Yes, this module was replaced by hook_field_formatter_third_party_settings() and hook_field_formatter_settings_summary_alter() in Drupal 8.
