Hi,
is it possibile grabbing image source url from feed item and use this url to insert image inside node (cck imagefield, etc etc etc etc), without download image?

Feed Image Grabber MUST download image to manage it.

I don't like to download image in my server, I prefer manage image in node using the source image url from feed item parsed.

is it possible?
or.. can you add this feature?

thank you for your support.

Hi,

I definitely support the idea, images being embedded into the node body using token support. I will be devoting some time to FIG after 6th May, so will update the issue if I come with something constructive.

Hi,

As FIG is integrated with imagefield it is mandatory to download the image. I was looking at two alternatives for this feature request:

1) Token support: As we have all the image URLs during the downloading process, we can have tokens that can be inserted into the node body like [image1], [image2], etc. But then you will have to manually insert these tokens and making it automatic would be quite complicated.
2) Easy solution would be via CCK, i.e. a module which takes an image URL and attaches the image to the node without downloading it i.e. using an <img> tag. I found one Link Image Field but it isn't maintained anymore.

I don't know what more I can do. Let me know if you have something in mind.

Cheers,

I have no more idea.

I need to create a site that aggregates content (teaser) of all other sites I have, using the feeds module. When new nodes are automatically created, FIG should take the first image url, for various uses.

This should be done automatically. I can't insert token manually.
This url could be used for example, to create a view slideshow with images, or put the image at side of the node title.

Download image (from my sites) creates image copies on the server.

I need this service. I need help.
