I would like to be able to use data from the HTTP Fetcher as variable in the XPath parser.

As an example I want to fill the URL of the HTTP Fetcher in a field "Source URL".

Are you saying that you wan't to map the fetcher source to a field, or use the fetcher source as a variable in an xpath query?

Moving to Feeds Ex since Feeds XPath Parser isn't getting any new features.

This should be fixed in Feeds proper.
