Currently I'm working with Feeds to take a CSV document and update values of nodes as applicable. In this case if I'm modifying nodes and would like a blank field in the CSV to mean "don't change" rather than "change to no contents". I can understand that users wouldn't want this in all situations so such a setting should be optional, potentially on a per field basis.
Please consider this a feature request unless there is a semi straight forward way to achieve this (code or otherwise).

franzCurrently, you have to patch the module to do it. There is an ongoing issue on this, please read the summary and contribute: #1107522: Framework for expected behavior when importing empty/blank values + text field fix
Since this issue is inside the other one, I'll close this.
