I'm planning either a direct port, or a patch against the D8 Token project. I don't have time to actively work on the conversion at present, though.

A patch against the Token project would be great. This is far better than what the module currently has.

+1 - as a feature request - a d8 version (now d9 too?! ) would have really saved me some time! I'll keep my eye out on this module.

Are there any issues against Token to deal with this in D8/9? I found https://www.drupal.org/project/token/issues/1334456 which just seems to echo the comment here.
