Having Water for an Area type is really useful and we are using it to plan out our water piping. It would be useful to be able to know the total length of the Water Area type. Perhaps this was intended to map out water bodies and not piping runs. In which case maybe a general change where if a defined area isn't a closed shape (ie LINESTRING instead of POLYGON) then the total length is displayed instead of the calculated area in ***.farmos.net/farm/areas

m.stentaAgreed - this would be good to add. Currently, only Polygon geometry areas are calculated, but not lengths of LineString geometries. This shouldn't be too hard to extend.
I am generalizing the title of this issue since it won't be limited to just water area types.
