Display facets on non search pages.

Hi

I am trying to display facets block on my homepage. But it does not appear. Its a taxonomy facet. This particular homepage is not a search page. I have displayed the data in a block which its going to filter, so one of the facets is appearing which is a textfield but the taxonomy is not.

I do not understand why?

Please suggest what i am doing wrong.
