Vkark brought to my attention the following:
Cookies: ECJ Confirms Illegality of Pre-ticked Boxes
(for the actual decision see here).
This affects euccx in the sense that the library choices in the cookie block that is generated should be disabled by default.
The implementation that I'm thinking is the following:
Add a new option in the module's configuration form (with information about the decision and a link to it) to enable the functionality to have the buttons unchecked by default (so that we don't break existing functionality in any of the sites that are already using the module).
If you have any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to share.
Edit: Decision excerpt related to this issue:
the consent referred to in those provisions is not validly constituted if, in the form of cookies, the storage of information or access to information already stored in a website user’s terminal equipment is permitted by way of a pre-checked checkbox which the user must deselect to refuse his or her consent.
