Import Environment indicator code - Documentation needed

Hi!

At /admin/config/development/environment-indicator there is an Import button.

Clicking it gives a textarea at /admin/config/development/environment-indicator/import with the title "Environment indicator code". However I do not seem to find any instructions on how to use this import feature. Can this be used to move the configuration between development environments? Where can I export the code to import?
