I went ahead and copied the enews.tpl.php into my theme directory. Drupal started using the template, but then stopped displaying any of the CSS associated with the theme or the node type. I tried enabling templates under "Advanced" and filling in rules in "Newsletter template CSS: " and it still didn't work. When I write CSS manually into the template, it's completely ignored by emogrifier. Am I missing something?

jbomb CreditAttribution: jbomb commentedThank you for the report! I did not have any success reproducing the bug in zen or garland, but perhaps more information will help.
Please note that CSS declarations in the template head tags will not be emogrified.
