I did a quick read of this module and looks like a drupal_mail() call was not ported to D6 properly. That function has changed since D5.

far as I can tell...I'm unable to load the Drupal API page at the
moment (am in Beijing and net has been crap all day for sites
outside China).
The documentation about the new D6 drupal_mail function and
hook_mail were not very clearly explained in my opinion. Considering
the difference between D5 and D6 I think some more work could
be done there to explain.
