When the email link is used in views the email address is not turned into a mailto link. It behaves as if the email plain text formatter was selected even though default email link formatter is selected.

did you try changing the formatter in both the content type and in views? I noticed that the contact form returned page not found on my view even if the display formatter in view was set to contact form. I had to change the default in content types to contact form also.
