E-mail was not validating at all, and I couldn´t find a reasonable cause.
I had the field inside a group "personal data", it seems that it won´t work when inside a group.
I pulled it out and it´s working fine... Any ideas/solutions?

Nothing to do with the group... Issue with the ajax module.

I have the same problem. In my case when the email field is required and inside a field group it always give the error"E-mail address is required." even if the field has a email address entered. But once I take the field out of the group it works fine.

Works in D7. Don't use custom validation.
