For a long time the slogan for Drupal and the essence of the community has been "Come for the software, stay for the community" or words to that effect. It was noticed in the latest update to the CoC (#2957525: Update DrupalCon Code of Conduct for 2018) that this phrase had been removed, which is a real shame.
I realise it has nothing to do with the code of conduct. It does not state in any way how one should behave, or what behaviour is expected. However it sums up well how much the community means to Drupal, how many of us have made life long friends through the software, and how we conduct ourselves in such a way that it is not just for "work" or to further the software, but to further ones self, and to build a community.
Add the line back in. It'd make a good opening or closing statement.

rachel_norfolkWhilst I am a big fan of the slogan "Come for the Software, Stay for the Community" and have even recently included it in the new Community section of Drupal.org, I'm not convinced it is the right thing to add to the DrupalCon Code of Conduct.
I do, however, absolutely believe that it *should* be included in the Drupal Code of Conduct and that is up for review soon.
I think the best thing to do is to close this issue and to raise a new, similar, issue in Drupal.org/project/governance
