rachel_norfolkI am currently working with a number of groups to create "Community Group Sections". I'm hoping one or two of these will be published in the next day or two.
I wonder if Global Contribution Weekend is indeed a "community group" and, therefore, should have a section of their own, describing who "organises" it, how, what happens and how to get involved. The group would be able to add as many pages as they like, much like a documentation section, along with their own blog.
Any thoughts?

hexabinaerThis is what we have so far: https://groups.drupal.org/node/534740
Please review :-)
I noticed that it would be useful to have a new re-usable single-event page as well which is why I created a page for 2020 (work in progress: https://groups.drupal.org/node/534741).
Wasn't sure about "Create a DGCW landing page in the Documentation space". The landing page and the respective event pages should be closely connected. If the landing page should really better be moved to d.o some relative links must be adjusted.
Note to self: create issues to replace "sprint" occurrences in several places (marked in the google doc).

Sorry Rachel, had the editor open for a while and missed your post. Will take your ideas into account.

john cook commentedThis looks great!
I think @aaron, @Bojhan, or @nedjo (the sprints group organizers) need to be contacted so that a link to it can be placed in the group description section, otherwise the page is going to quickly get lost.
I'm starting to think that making Global Contribution Weekend a "community group" is a good idea, especially when events move to D.O. The new page has four distinct sections (about DGCW, hosting, participating, and archive) which might be better as different pages. We'll need two or three people to curate the pages, D.O. project for issues, blog(?), etc.

gambryI agree with making Global Contribution Weekend a "community group". We can probably discuss - and maybe action - next steps in Amsterdam?
Adding to the issue summary the task Decide if DGCW should have its own "community group" and - if yes - create pages and content (documents in this issue are a good source of content)
