Release notes

This release of the 8.5.x series resolves several bugs impacting upgrade paths and contributed modules. It also resolves an issue with the update status report to allow security releases to be issued for older minor versions of Drupal. You can read the minor security coverage roadmap for more information on these changes.

Note that following the release of 8.6.0 earlier today, 8.5 will not receive any additional bugfixes beyond additional changes needed for improving security coverage.
