Since the popular understanding is that 'CCK is now in Core', I expect it will be viewed as a step backward (bug) if this much touted and highly useful feature of D6 CCK is missing.

Attached patch is a port of the CCK D6 module, renamed as 'field_permissions'.

In this sort of situation, is it appropriate or expected to include a diff against the D6 contrib module? (In this case, its a quite small module, and most every line has changed at least slightly.)
