When a user visits example.com/book.
They see a list of books but a 'Add New Book Page' link is missing. The Blog module and forum module don't have that shortcoming.
I get around the issue with a custom templated views page however I think that out of the box, the example.com/book url should have a 'Create New Book Page' link so that the book module is easier to use especially in multi-user sites.

cybermache CreditAttribution: cybermache commentedI had this problem as well. I ran the update 6000 for Book and am now able to create a top page and add node under this page. So far so good. I'll add any other problems I find to this feed.

oz1kad CreditAttribution: oz1kad commentedHi Guys.
I'm a newbee at Drupal - but starting to figure things out.
Using Drupal 7...
However, I am trying to force the creation of a new book, when creating a document of a specific content type or when clicking on my custom menu link "Create new book".
Also, I am looking into a way to hide the table of contents for this page (thereby forcing the user to create a new book).
I appreciate your answers - thanks in advance.
