1️⃣ Overall project status update
mtift (he/him) | Let's use this issue to discuss the overall status of the initiative in broad terms, and we'll save specific issue discussions for later threads. Also, I wanted to point out that the Olivero issues, including the meeting agendas/notes are now part of Drupal Core:https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/drupal?text=Olivero+Meeting&status...'ve updated the link on https://www.drupal.org/project/olivero to help make them more easily findable. (edited) |
mherchel | Holy :cow: we’re in core (still can’t get over that!) |
mherchel | anyway, our next step is to work toward becoming stable (and the default theme). We have plenty of time |
mherchel | #3177296: [META] Make Olivero stable |
mherchel | This past week @proeung and I went and moved over (or closed) all of the Olivero issues to core |
mherchel | I’ve been trying to do a review or two in the mornings. There’s a lot of coding standards issues. |
mherchel | And I’m also trying to streamline our technical processes. Within contrib, we had Tugboat set up to do visual diffs, etc. I want to do the same for 9.1.x HEAD. But composer is difficult. I have a call later today to figure that out |
2️⃣ Individual issue discussion
mtift (he/him) | This thread is the place to bring up specific issues that need some extra discussionDo your issues have questions? We've got answers! Let's discuss. |
mherchel | I don’t really have much. Most of our issues are either coding standards or accessibility. |
mherchel | this particular one is really interesting #3177370: Improve Olivero's element chunking for smoother switch access traversal |
mherchel | I’m really interested how elements that should not get focus states were getting them (if you watch the video). I’d be interested to see if anyone has any experience with this |
mtift (he/him) | Anyone else is certainly free to ask questions about issues. Maybe there is one you have thought about working on -- please feel free to ask here. |
3️⃣ Where can people help this week?
mherchel | Code reviews! |
mherchel | we have a number of issues that need reviews (I’ll be working on this also) |
adam | What is the best way to view the open issues you are alluding to above? Does someone have a listing page with filters link handy?Something better than this?https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/drupal?component=Olivero+theme |
chrisfree | |
mtift (he/him) | @mherchel ^^ |
mherchel | here’s the needs reviews https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/drupal?status=8&component=Olivero+... |
mherchel | Is that what we’re asking for? |
mherchel | but we don’t have a kanban or anything |
adam | Yes, thank you. Didn’t know if there was some search term I should be using too. |
