What are the steps required to reproduce the bug?

  1. Install newest D8 with French as the default language
  2. Visit Views page or Content types page
  3. Change the url to English e.g. example.com/en/admin/structure/views

What behavior were you expecting?

I expected views' names to be displayed in English, as well as content type names should be displayed in English according to the current active language.

What happened instead?

All views' names are displayed in French as well as the content type names
Currently using Drupal 8.7.5

Things I tried

  1. Clear cache
  2. Re-import translation strings
  3. Change the default language to English

Branches prior to 8.8.x are not supported, and Drupal 8.8.x will not receive any further development aside from security fixes. Sites should prepare to update to Drupal 8.9.0 or Drupal 9.0.0 for ongoing support.

Bug reports should be targeted against the 8.9.x-dev branch from now on, and new development or disruptive changes should be targeted against the 9.1.x-dev branch. For more information see the Drupal 8 and 9 minor version schedule and the Allowed changes during the Drupal 8 and 9 release cycles.

Reproducible on 10.1 . Remains unresolved since 9.4 . Haven't searched for duplicates.
