dawehnerWe should probably figure out where this plugin was used, as this code doesn't use the plugin!
dagmarAlso, probably this wil be modified after #1779026: Convert Text Formats to Configuration System
Comment #5
dawehnerYeah that's probably useless as we don't have this table anymore.
xjmSo the initial patch is pointless now; best we can do is to wait for EFQ views for config entities or some such.
dawehnerWell, the handler could be still sort of used for fieldapi fields, but even EQ will not have any advantage, as joins between content and config entities will probably not work.
xjmHmm, I don't see us adding a way to support this for 8.0 really. Should we either mark this wontfix, or make it a feature request against a later release?
dawehnerGiven that this is mostly about rendering (let's ignore table click sort)
we could write a field formatter which prints the format.

xjmThe previous patch in the issue isn't relevant, so setting to active.
jibranI think we can close this as a duplicate. We use field formatters for field api fields and base fields now.
mgiffordIf it's a "duplicate" we need the issue to reference that fixed it. If the problems already been fixed, it could be set to "cannot reproduce".
It's either that or develop a better issue summary...
tstoeckler@jibran: I think this is about creating a new formatter, which just prints out the label of the text format. I don't think we have that yet in core.
