When you receive an email notification that someone has sent you a message via your profile, the provided links aren't very useful. Consider this:

FactoryJoe@civicspacelabs.org,

NickHBO (http://drupal.org/user/14298) has sent you a message via your
contact form (http://drupal.org/user/11639/contact) at drupal.org.

If you don't want to receive such e-mails, you can change your settings at
http://drupal.org/user/11639.

At a glance, I clicked on the second link, assuming that since the username of the person who contacted me was first in that paragraph, a link to reply to him would be close by. Scanning, I saw the words "contact form" and assumed that it would lead me to HIS contact form.

But no! Instead, it links to MY contact form, which I have no use for (unless I want to talk to myself).

Let's promote communication between people, not impede it! Can this please be changed? Otherwise, I love the feature!

Title: Personal Contact Email Alert from Drupal.org needs help » Remove link to user's contact form
Category: task » feature

Chris -- please give feedback as specific feature requests, rather than "this needs help". I've changed the title and made this a feature request.

I agree that a link to your contact form is not useful, and should be removed. The footer link can be to your user account where you can change your contact settings.

Also, the "from" address is the person who sent the email, so you can just hit reply....

Marking as dupe of #345541: Link to contact form in user account and e-mails leads to 403. since that one has rather more recent discussion.
