I am doing some clean-up of this page, and realized that several steps are duplicates from the primary Multi-site page, and this page could be cleaned up a bit to summarize the important steps for Windows users to take, without getting too much off-topic. I realize that this would mean a large overhaul to this page and didn't want to make the change unless others felt the same.
I'd like some input as to how to proceed.

add1sun commentedUgh, hrm. Well honestly what I'd rather see is one basic page on multi-site to explain what it is and how it works in the getting started guide. Then that page would link off to all the crazy, specific pages that exist for multi-sites. This is a fine example of the versioning problem that we have and the fact that a *lot* of generally useful stuff is buried under the 4.7 and earlier section (for example, http://drupal.org/node/43816). Especially with multi-site most of the work to get it working is on the server and not even related to Drupal version.
I'd rather move the "4.7" version of multi-site to a top level and put all the specific ones under that and then in Getting Started D6, just have the one existing main page that links off to the other stuff. Let's not do that right now because I'd like more feedback first. I'm going to change the title of the issue to focus on that question first.

add1sun commentedI'm going to mark this a duplicate of #308584: More logical structure for Getting Started handbook which can discuss the wider issues of the entire Getting Started handbook.
