Since one has to be logged in on drupal.org in order to edit documentation, i would assume that at least a username of each and every author is known. Which would oblige drupal.org to list them somewhere.

Some pages list "guide maintainers", however, it is not clear wether or not they are the only contributers to that particular documentation section. There are also some pages that do not list guide maintainers.

So, where can i find proper attributions for documentation?

There is a view history tab similar to Wikipedia's.

Thanks for bringing this up. I believe the revisions tab is enough to fulfill our CC by SA obligations. Though, I'm also not an expert by any means so happy to be proven otherwise.

Documentation pages used to display a list of recent authors, but that was removed because it was deemed both buggy and not helpful. #2017673: Remove "by [original author]" on documentation pages.

There are at least a few issues looking to bring back that list, and/or add a more comprehensive list if you're interested in either of those:

With that in mind, I vote for closing this issue.
