Overview
Display Builder Dev Tools is a companion module for local development and debugging. It is not intended for production use — it exposes destructive bulk operations and raw internal state that would be inappropriate on a live site.
Admin actions
- Import / export instance sources — serialize a
display_builder_instancesource tree to YAML and restore it, useful for sharing or reproducing layouts across environments - Delete instances — remove instances that are not managed by config (i.e. standalone runtime instances)
- Delete history — wipe all undo/redo revisions across every instance to free storage during heavy iteration
- Delete all presets — bulk-remove every saved preset
Debug API endpoints
Adds three read-only JSON endpoints on any instance for inspecting internal state:
/admin/structure/display-builder/instance/{id}/state— current resolved source tree/admin/structure/display-builder/instance/{id}/index— the path index cache/admin/structure/display-builder/instance/{id}/structure— normalized flat structure maps
