The existence of the X-WR-CALNAME property in the VCALENDAR causes most clients to treat the iCal feed as a whole different calendar. Some people would like to have the ability to add the VEVENTs coming from Date iCal to an existing calendar, so I'm going to add the ability to exclude the X-WR-CALNAME property from the Date iCal Views output.

I've implemented this feature, which appears as the new "Exclude Calendar Name" checkbox in the iCal Feed settings panel, available in Date iCal 7.x-2.3.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any way to make it work like buckley said it would with regards to calendar clients not treating the feed as a separate calendar. That may just be because I have no calendar clients besides Apple Calendar, and it appears to always import iCal feeds as separate calendars.
