I'm adapting a fork of the Event_reserve module to work with Date, or at least I want to.
The Date API docs seem to elude my search. Is it just a sad case of brain freeze?

I've never touched this module, but a quick glance indicates that the code seems pretty well documented internally. This means you can either Generate your own Drupal docs site (which is fun) or perhaps the (offsite) full API doxygen docs for all of Drupal Contrib has what you are looking for.
