Striping applies odd/even incorrectly

When I activate the plugin for a view display, the striping is way off. In my view preview, it works as intended, but when ouput on a page under my site theme, I get:

odd
odd even
even odd
odd even
even odd
odd even
even odd
even
odd
odd even

I poked through my table template file and don't see anything relevant there that might be adding additional classes. Anyone else run up against this?
