I created this patch, but I think that it don't need to be commited.
scanDirectory function exists only in drupal 8.8.x versions. (https://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/core%21lib%21Drupal%21Core%21File%21Fi...)
In versions less than this, we need to use file_scan_directory function.

Maybe is necessary update info.yml file to required core_version_requirement: ^8.8.

The solution in this patch reverts the needed Drupal 9 readiness fix.

The right solution is to set core_version_requirement to ^8.8.
