Custom breadcrumbs taxonomy component creates session for anonymous user

I am using version 6.x-2.0-rc1 and I notice the moment I turned on custom breadcrumbs taxonomy component, cookie is set for anonymous request. It makes the page uncacheable on Varnish. When I checked the code, it is trying to get and set recent term in some places. I am not able to grab the purpose of this. So I have to ask here whether it is necessary to have recent term? I have attached output from curl command where you can see the cookie is set. Thanks.
