gtsopour commentedHello rheathcock
The whole footer area is equally divided horizontally into 3 regions footer-first, footer-second & footer third. Each region has 280px width. What exactly do you mean by your question how can I get them to stack horizontally? Could you become more detailed so that I can help you?
Thanks
/George
Comment #2
rheathcock commentedI meant how to get the blocks in other regions to stack horizontally like the footer. The highlighted and content regions block both stack horizontally (on top of each other) I want the block to stack side by side like the footer.

gtsopour commentedHello rheathcock
Firstly, you should distinguish the concepts of Drupal regions and blocks. Drupal themes can implement any number of regions for rendering blocks and other content into. Regions are defined in template files (firstly in theme.info file). Blocks usually added through Drupal UI into the regions.
Specifically to your question, you could style the regions or the blocks inside the regions. I think you want to style the blocks inside a specific region.
For example, usually a Drupal region structure is like this,
Replace the RegionName with your desired region such as "content" or "highlighted"
In order to place the blocks horizontally inside a specific region, you could add to your style.css file something like this
rheathcock is your Drupal installation online, in order to help you directly with an example style rule?
Thanks

mikymro commentedHello there. i want to say that i love this theme.
I want to have on the front page a sticky article spread at 100 % and under it some blocks, arranged horizontally, at 50 %. I pasted the code you provided, ".region-RegionName .block { float: left; width: 50%; }" but that arranged everything at 50%... how can edit the style.css to make this happen?
thanks.

Peters commentedHi George, Rheathcock,
I'm having the same issue with the banner of CorpClean.
I would like to put an extra block on the right side but I get it or above or below, not beside :/
Any help on the css would be welcome! It's the part "banner-right" what should go on the right side.
Thanks ahead,
Peters

vm commentedto have regions display horizontally or blocks within those regions display horizontally you must use CSS to float them. I highly suggest utilzing HTMLdog.com to learn more about CSS and the drupal theme developers guide to learn more about how to work with drupal themes.

Peters commentedHi VM,
this issue is solved.
What I did was copy the css style from footer and made this "banner",
united 2 blocks, adjusted the grid and it was done!
:)
vm commentedhopefully you are utilizing a sub-theme as previously instructed.
Peters commentedHi VM,
I have been on the sub theme yesterday, but I didn't get it completely working.
The colors did not came along. Although I copied all files in a new sub theme.
Later on I tried as some suggested only to stick with the css file and an adjusted subtheme.info file but that did not work at all.
Also must say that I have came across many "suggestions" and many of them were different so at this stage I'm a bit confused.
Also the different themes seems to have different "steps", too bad none of them were CorpClean convincing
...

vm commentedyou're not supposed to copy all of the files and if the style sheets weren't carrying over then the subtheme wasn't set up correctly. A subtheme can literally be 2 files. a .info file and an empty .css file for your css overrides.
Peters commentedOk, but I already have altered a lot of stuff in the CSS file, if I delete the content I will lose the changes correct?
Should I maybe make the sub theme with the altered CSS and reinstall the original CSS of the main theme?
vm commentedyep. Just as you will when the theme gets a security fix or a bug fix. Hence why you should have started with a subtheme. I highly suggest spending some time with drupal best practice documentation instead of flying by your shoestrings.
Peters commentedI am new to Drupal you are right, but I have done some training to get to understand it a bit. http://www.drupalin24dagen.nl
This training goes through al (or almost all) subjects of Drupal but no word of sub theme.
That's why I was surprised people were mentioning it.
So just to be sure, I have to save my css & .info file into a new folder(theme) and re-install the original css, .info into the original theme?
And what about the page.tpl.php file? As there are also a lot of changes made.. Same issue? Move it to the new theme and re-install the original?
